Sabir Springs Farm History
Established in 1996, Sabir Springs Farm was developed into a high quality breeding operation producing sport horses for the uses of Dressage, or Jumping. Our goal was simple: to produce the highest quality of horses for the discriminating rider. Our focus was to obtain the finest broodmares with the best conformation, bloodlines, movement, and temperament, and breed them to the best stallions available. Within a few years, we acquired a number of highly credentialed stallions to add to our program. Our imported Dutch stallion, Argus was truly legendary having competed successfully at the upper levels of both Dressage and Jumping simultaneously, and holding the title still today of being the only horse in the world to have completed such a difficult feat.
Argus passed away at the age of 23, and his lifetime achievements are significant. Beginning as a three year old, Argus completed the difficult Dutch stallion approvals placing in the top three out of over 40 young stallions presented, and only 16 achieving approval status. By the time Argus was only 8 years old, and despite his rigorous competition schedule, he sired more “Premium 1” foals than any other breeding stallion in the US. In two breeding seasons, he sired more “Premium 1” foals than all other stallions in their entire breeding careers in the US. Further, when Argus was 9 years old, four out of the ten highest placed foals at the keurings were sired by Argus!!
With superior bloodlines, and a willingness to succeed, and being uniquely versatile, Argus climbed the ranks of the show jumping world, and excited the dressage enthusiasts with his performance in both disciplines. Boasting many titles to his credit, Argus traveled back to Holland in 1994 and continued a legacy of achievement in competition and breeding.
It was a true privilege to stand this renowned stallion at our farm, and he is/was proudly campaigned as a leading sire. To date, he has sired an astounding 7 approved sons located all over the world, and thousands of offspring competing in both disciplines.
Today, Sabir Springs Farm has held onto a number of young Argus offspring of which we are thrilled to enjoy personally.
Having an admiration for the Friesian breed, Sabir Springs Farm decided to add a Friesian stallion to its roster, and we welcomed the magnificent Rampart to our farm. Rampart came to us as a 6 year old stallion competing at the lower levels of Dressage with many wins already in his young promising career. Within a few short years, this talented horse climbed the ranks of Dressage and is currently schooling Prix St. George’s level Dressage with many championships to his credit.
Of course, along the way, we have had the pleasure to produce many outstanding offspring who are being enjoyed today by riders and competitors around North America. We continually receive emails from clients who keep in touch regarding the progress of their SSF bred horses. Following the careers of these horses, and knowing that we have produced horses that are competing successfully at the top shows around North America has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
