Whether you are a seasoned rider, or just a beginner, we have the horses to suit. Sabir Springs Farm began 10 years ago as a professional horse breeding operation focusing on producing “quality”, not “quantity”, and some of the horses used today in our guided riding excursions are products of that breeding program. We have spared no expense to offer the finest horses for our program, and are dedicated to offering personalized guided excursions and experiences.

We offer decades of experience and encourage all of our guests to take advantage of the many ways to enjoy our wonderful horses (or your own), the trails and amenities on our farm and in the area. The more seasoned guest may like to continue their training and school a horse in the ring, or over some fences. The beginner rider may wish a lesson or two to begin the journey of establishing the amazing connection between horse and rider. Maybe you’d like to watch a young horse being started undersaddle for the first time. And if you are lucky, maybe you’ll be here for the birth of one of our foals!! And of course, you’ll want to experience the many endless trails we love to enjoy. Whatever your goals and plans, your experience is sure to be fulfilling and very gratifying. Horses are magical creatures, and it is a joy and privilege to be able to do what we do every day, and we enjoy being able to offer a taste of our experiences with our guests.

There is nothing more exhilarating or rewarding than experiencing the countryside, remote trails, and nature than on the back of a great horse. Whether you desire a low impact ride such as an hour or two walk alongside the river, or perhaps you are a more ambitious rider wishing a more aggressive and long ride, we are able to tailor your rides according to your goals, skills, and desires.

We are fortunate to have some of the best scenery and settings you will find anywhere, with the perfect weather to match. And, we are proud to offer high quality horses to our guests. Real riding is not just about getting on a “bombproof” horse who will lead you through the trails while you are clinging onto the horn of your saddle hoping not to fall off!! While our horses are very reliable, we highly encourage our guests to take advantage of the expertise offered at Sabir Springs and perhaps have a lesson or two before heading out on the trails. Riding successfully and comfortably revolves around the concepts of correct equitation/position and executing correct aids to your horse. Further, and especially on the trails, understanding HOW horses think and react to things will make your ride immensely more enjoyable and fulfilling. Horses are not mechanical, they have minds of their own, and further, they are “flight” animals. This means that if they get spooked by something, which sometimes happens, their first reaction is to flee. Learning some basic fundamentals about how to communicate properly with your horse will be immensely gratifying, and will add greatly to the security and comfort of your ride. Depending on your comfort zone, we do offer both English and Western riding styles.

As Sabir Springs Farm has operated as a professional breeding business, we have all the amenities a training and horse facility should have. This includes a beautifully newly and stylishly renovated barn containing comfortable and large stalls, a wash rack to bathe the horses, tack area, etc. We have four spacious paddocks safely fenced, and four large grazing pastures. For training and schooling purposes, we offer a round pen, and an Olympic size sand outdoor riding arena.

For those riders who wish to bring your own horse, we welcome you to do so. Even if your horse does not have much trail experience, now is the time to take the opportunity to give your horse a break and a holiday too!! We have not met a horse yet who did not settle quickly into the enjoyment of trail riding, and he is surely to feel comfortable in our relaxed and quality accommodations on our farm.

We strive to make your stay very personalized and will discuss your plans, goals, and ideas so we may tailor your experience to reach those goals. Generally, we begin each day with a healthy freshly prepared breakfast served in the comforts of your room, or perhaps outside on our covered patio deck to enjoy the priceless view.

Once we’ve pulled our boots on, and your host has packed a lunch to enjoy somewhere along the trails, we’re off for the day! For our non-riding guests, or guests who wish a shorter, morning ride only, there are casual restaurants in the area to dine for lunch, or perhaps you wish to make your own, as there are stores only minutes away in which you may purchase all the goodies you desire!

Our trails provide everything a rider could want including, winding streams, wooded trails and grassy fields, and of course, amazing views! Wildlife occasionally crosses our paths such as deer, elk, and even bear or two, as well as the many varieties of birds.

Once we return from our ride, you may have just enough time for a nap, or a dip in the hot tub before dinner. While we don’t prepare dinner for our guests, we are pretty laid back and relaxed here, and if we happen to be barbequing or cooking over an open fire in the back yard, you are more than welcome to join us for the evening. Otherwise, there are many different options for your dining experience that we are happy to assist you in arranging.
